Focused, asynchronous coaching to help you get unstuck, stay accountable, test your ideas, and move your presentation forward - without adding another meeting.

"A-what" coaching?

Image

In a nutshell:

You send questions or materials when it fits your schedule

I respond during our coaching window (a full day) with voice/text feedback

You get focused guidance and actionable next steps

You keep moving forward while still handling your other priorities

You’re not stuck waiting for a scheduled meeting slot

If you find yourself stalled while creating your presentations, you've come to the right place!

While you may not know what the answer to your problem is just yet, you certainly know what the answer ISN’T.

❌It’s not another coaching intensive; you don't need a lot of hand-holding.

❌It’s not a Facebook group coaching program where you don't get personalized or customized support, and you feel invisible in a sea of other voices clamoring for the guru's attention.

❌And it’s not another book, DIY course or Google, where you might find some answers, but there's no way to talk through deeper questions and concerns.

You KNOW you need support to iron out the kinks in your presentation, to make sure it's effective and engaging, and to put an end to the stress of procrastination and uncertainty of what will and won't work.

But when you look around for options, nothing out there is exactly what you need right now.

Wouldn't it be great if you could...

How does it work?

We'll use whichever app you choose to send text and voice messages to each other: Texting, Voxer, Signal, WhatsApp, Messenger: whatever works!

We're not sitting together in the same block of time. Instead, we're sending messages and responding in our own time.

1. Pick your day.

You don’t need to free your calendar for this. Voice and text coaching is flexible and flows alongside your other tasks and responsibilities.

You just need to make sure you have enough time between your life and work activities to send me questions, and to listen and reply to messages, as well as the mental space to think, process, take notes, reflect, etc.

When you book your day, you'll fill out a couple of questions to help me understand what you want to work on.

This is a structured, one-day coaching container, not unlimited access or ongoing support. One and done!

2. We get you set up on your app of choice.

We can use email, Facebook Messenger, Signal, WhatsApp or texting, as long as we both have the same app!

3. You'll have access to me between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (PST USA) Tuesday through Saturday (unless I'm traveling). I take Sundays and Mondays off.

Because we're not meeting at set times, you're not expected to be sitting by your phone or computer waiting for replies. It's not like a Zoom meeting where we have to be in the same place at the same time.

We’ll be exchanging messages throughout our day at a relaxed pace.

The best thing about this process is that we have space in between messages to think about ideas, reflect, write, practice, look at files, make edits and whatever else you need to do!

That’s part of what makes this kind of coaching so effective.

"Lisa, I did it! 😀 I told my story in front of 65 people. It turned out great!

Our office hours in early December were very helpful. You helped me zero in on what points I most wanted to bring up. Thank you!"

Nimfa Schmitz

What can we work on together?

Your private office hours are all about you and designed by you. You bring your questions and we'll talk about whatever it is you need in the moment.

🟠Brainstorm exercises or activities for your next workshop

🟠Hammer out a stronger opening, call to action, closing or main ideas of your presentation

🟠Get clear on stories, examples or analogies that can make your content stronger and more engaging

🟠Record and practice a short script (up to five minutes)

🟠Talk through your speaker proposal to make sure you're putting your best foot forward when applying to speak at conferences

🟠Clarify your key points and organizational structure of your presentation so you're leading your audience down a path to a desired result

🟠Work on mindset and confidence issues, mental and emotional preparation

🟠Make sure your language and data are clear and concise so you don't confuse or bore your audience

🟠Brainstorm titles, topics, engagement ideas, client follow-up, workflows and anything else related to your in-person or remote presentations

🟠Get feedback on your slides so they're more effective, less chaotic, or less boring!

When you book your office hours, what you're really getting is...

"Having worked with Lisa in a group coaching workshop, I knew she would have valuable insight as I was working on developing language for a new area of my work and the related promotional materials.

I loved this format. Having three hours to spread out in made it feel less pressured. I felt I had time to dig into The Hard Tasks and get Lisa's helpful outside opinion.

It was easy to use from phone and computer, and we did a short message exchange to test it so I felt prepared.

Because it was just voice and text feedback, with some space and time in between to process it, I felt I was able to I was able to probe deeper into the 'whys,' to bring about a greater energy for action.

The container Lisa set up gave me a breakthrough, and I'd recommend the experience!"

So... who am I?

Six images of Lisa delivering remote training

Hi! I'm Lisa Braithwaite. I’ve been speaking, teaching, training and coaching for over 30 years.

My first six years of speaking on the job, back in the 90s, were spent in high school classrooms, teaching teenagers about domestic violence (my "trial by fire").

Before that, I got my master's degree in education.

Before that, I got a B.A. in theater.

Before that, I was on the speech team and performed in plays, dancing and singing groups.

And before that, I was just a kid who was a ham and loved to create performances for my parents and their friends.

Most importantly, though, my time as an advocate and trainer in the nonprofit sector and my educational degrees have influenced my upbeat, lighthearted, and accessible approach to public speaking coaching and  training.

I've provided workshops and keynotes for organizations as diverse as Microsoft, NOAA, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, California Society of Association Executives and the American Bus Association, and I've been interviewed in the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and Toastmaster Magazine.

I'm also the author of Presenting for Humans: Insights for Speakers on Ditching Perfection and Creating Connection.

I'll be your biggest cheerleader and accountability partner to help you get out of your comfort zone and into the biggest, boldest, most confident version of YOU that you can be.

Is this a good fit?

This coaching day is a good fit if:

You have a specific presentation coming up

You’re getting there, but stuck or second-guessing

You want personalized feedback and direction, not a course

You don’t want to add another meeting to your calendar

You work best with space to think and focused input

This is not the best fit if:

You want live camera practice or role-playing

You’re looking for long-term, ongoing coaching

You prefer fully scheduled, hour-long meetings

You can't make time to work on some of the tools I may give you, like worksheets or presentation guides

(Those are better served through my 1:1 coaching options.)

FAQ

What if we’re in different time zones?

I'll be looking at my messages between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST, but you can leave me messages at any time! I'll check in a couple of times a day and maybe I'll be responding to you while you're asleep. That's the beauty of asynchronous coaching!

How often can I contact you?

You can contact me as often as you like throughout our day. I'll check in regularly to see if you've left me a message. Feel free to send messages at any time - I keep my phone on silent during the day and on "do not disturb" overnight! You won't be bothering me.

How long should my messages be? Should they be audio or text?

Your audio messages should be concise if possible, no longer than 2 minutes, just to keep focus on one question at a time. Don’t worry if you feel like you’re rambling, though. I think better when I talk things through, and you might be the same!

You can also choose to text entirely; no need to speak at all!

You can also send videos or links to Google docs. Or do a combination. I will likely do a mix of talking and texting (I usually talk to text, actually). Whatever works for you.

What's your refund policy?

As my 1:1 coaching spots are very limited and I will make time in my schedule to be available for you, the payment is non-refundable. You have a full day to reach out to me as many times as you wish, so this is your opportunity to be accountable to yourself!

However, if it looks like that period is going to be too busy for you or if something comes up and you can't focus on your presentation, you can rebook your remaining time within three months of the initial booking date. Once our time has been completed, as with all of my private coaching, there are no rebookings or refunds.

What kind of topic is not a good fit for meeting-free momentum coaching?

Anything that requires me to watch you practice a presentation live, or if you you need to show video longer than about five minutes, or if screen-sharing is necessary.

Creating and working through a full-length presentation from scratch isn't a good fit, and you'll want to book my regular coaching package for that.

I can do limited reviews and give you feedback on video content and materials, as long as you send me something in advance.

What happens after I reserve my day?

Once you've made your payment, you'll receive a confirmation email from me, with next steps and instructions and how to select your day.

Do you offer live coaching sessions or packages?

I do offer 1:1 45-minute sessions on Zoom as well as packages of three live sessions. And once we've worked together, you can also book alumni micro-sessions starting at 30 minutes.

I have another question before I book.

You can email me here with any questions: lisa[at]coachlisab[dot]com!

"Before meeting with Lisa for our office hours, I was challenged with maximizing my efficiency and effectiveness of participation in speaking events.

I now have a number of strategies that I am utilizing to improve my efficiency and effectiveness."

Amy Dilcher

Why is async coaching so great?

We both have time to mull over answers, dig deeper with things and even go off track! It's a leisurely-paced conversation.

We can both listen back to and save conversation snippets to use later. If you like to process things by talking out loud, this is great for that!

You can get quick shifts and quick results by asking targeted and focused questions.

You don't need to be in a specific place at a specific time, although please don't text while driving! You can do all your daily tasks... just come back and check for messages in between!

We can spread out our conversation over time instead of compressing it all into 45 minutes.

If you prefer to text, you can absolutely type in your questions and answers, as well as share files and links.

You don't need to be camera-ready (which I don't really care about, but you might!). You can be sitting in your kitchen sending voice messages with dishes piled up all around, and I'll never know!

No fancy tech is needed. Just your phone and a texting/voice app, and it's super simple to use. You can also participate on the desktop. I use Google Messages for Web, that syncs with my phone.
